Bluebirds Swoop for Versatile Swan

Matty Collins has joined from Swansea (Photo: Swansea City FC)Haverfordwest County have swooped to sign former Wales squad member Matty Collins to boost their squad in advance of Saturday's long trip to Prestatyn.

Collins is equally at home anywhere in the midfield and was also used as a right-back under Roberto Martinez at the Liberty Stadium, but after his chances were limited under Paolo Sousa, he was released by new Swans' boss Brendan Rogers earlier this month.

Merthyr born Collins has represented his country at Under 17,19 and 21 levels and was also included in the full Welsh squad against Georgia almost two years ago today in August 2008. His other previous clubs were Swindon Town, Fulham and Wrexham (loan).

Collins has already appeared once at the Bridge Meadow Stadium this season in a friendly for the Swans against his new team and his excellent performance that evening certainly stood our for his new manager.
