Weekend Attendances Increase by another 15%

This weekend's attendances in the Principality Welsh Premier League was up by a further 15% from the opening weekend.

The total number of spectators at the five games was 1,993 with an average of 399. The average of the opening six games of the season during Week One was 347, which represented a 16% increase on the highest season average of 300 in 2003/04 and a 26% increase on last year. This season's average currently stands at 373, which is a 24% on the record season and a 35% rise on last season.

The highest crowd of the weekend was at Maes Tegid as 723 watched Bangor City win 3-2 at Bala in the S4/C live televised clash. The second highest of the weekend was at Park Avenue on Friday night as 487 saw Aberystwyth Town and Newtown draw. There were 312 at Richmond Park as the majority left disappointed with Carmarthen slipping to a 4-1 home defeat to Airbus. There were 274 on Friday evening at Llanelli and the smallest crowd of the weekend was at Bastion Road as 197 watched Prestatyn Town beat Haverfordwest County.
