Reds Re-Sign Warlow to Alleviate Injury Crisis
Llanelli AFC have re-signed left winger, Owain Warlow, to help alleviate the chronic injury situation at Stebonheath Park.
The 22-year old from Pontypridd played for the Reds for the whole of last season but was released by Andy Legg in June. He played 22 (+7) times in League and League Cup last season, scoring once.
He joined the Reds during the 2009 close season from Lincoln City and made his debut for the club in the Europa League First Leg against Motherwell, in the 1-0 win in Scotland.
A product of Lincoln City's Centre of Excellence youth academy, Warlow made his professional debut on 10th February, 2007 in a 2-0 win over Torquay United, going on to make a total of 5 appearances for the side in his first season and being handed a two year contract. He was also named as Young Player of the season in that campaign. After featuring in the first team squad more during the 2007/08 season, at the start of the 2008/09 season, he joined Conference National side Kettering Town on loan and then Ilkeston Town, before returning to Lincoln.
In January 2007 he was called into the Wales Under 21 squad, playing 90 minutes in a 4-0 win over Northern Ireland Under-21's and won his second Cap on 21st August, 2007 as a substitute for Joe Allen during a 4-3 win over Sweden Under-21's.
However Warlow did not feature for the club during the remainder of the season and was released in May 2009, when Andy Legg swooped for his signature. The Welsh speaking attacking wide-player was born in Treforest near Pontypridd.
After just a month in the Welsh Premier League, he was called up by Terry Boyle for the Wales Semi Professional team and made his debut at this level in the friendly defeat to Poland in Carmarthen. He missed out on a further cap due to injury.
