Young Aber defender Signs for Students

Aberystwyth Town have announced that defender Steve Bowen has left the Seasiders and has joined Cardiff based University side UWIC.

Bowen, 21, who is currently a Sports Science student at UWIC, won a number of awards in his first season with Aberystwyth Reserves. He scooped the Club's Youth Team Player of the Year, and he also won the Spar Mid Wales Player of the Season award, to cap a magical start to his career.

He featured on the bench for the first team in the Loosemores Cup in 2007/08, and his first league start came a year later. The full back soon got to grips with the pace of the Welsh Premier in his wing-back role, and certainly created an impression for Town throughout the season.

The Club has wished Steve all the best for the future and hope to see him back in the Welsh Premier in the not too distant future.
