Robins snap up another Saint
TNS midfielder John McKenna is the latest player to join former manager Andy Cale at Newtown.
The promising midfielder joins on loan and links-up with striker Craig Whitfield and defender Sean Jones at Latham Park. That duo have already made a good impression with the Robins, with Whitfield scoring the winner at Haverfordwest on his debut, but the capture of the talented 20-year-old central midfield playmaker could be the most significant.
McKenna graduated from the Saints' academy and of the young trio, he has appeared the most for the Saints, playing 26 (+23) times in the League. He has also scored six goals with the memorable winner at the Gnoll last season against Neath deep into injury time, which proved crucial in the Saints' run-in to lift the Championship Title.
McKenna was named in the Saints' Europa League squad and was an unused sub last night against CSKA Sofia. Following their exit from the competition, Saints' boss Davies has allowed the youngster to gain more experience at Newtown and he will make his debut against Prestatyn on Saturday at Latham Park.
